Dermalife Clinic
On a main thoroughfare in Cluj-Napoca, where continuously increasing urban density necessitates innovative solutions, Dermalife Clinic addresses a specific challenge: functional integration into a narrow street front, with rigorous preservation of a historic facade. The architectural intervention proposes a vertical and posterior extension, creating a deliberate contrast with the existing structure. The new volume rises above the old building, a visual stratification that respects the urban heritage. The glass curtain wall and extensive glazing define a modern, high-tech aesthetic, characteristic of medical spaces. This controlled transparency allows natural light to penetrate deep into the modern interiors, creating an aseptic, yet welcoming atmosphere. The increase in height is subtly managed, transforming the site into a hybrid architectural object. t combines the historical memory of the place with contemporary dynamism, demonstrating a logical approach to urban development. The new structure’s enclosed, yet luminous front generates a dialogue between eras, without nullifying each other.
