Bistrița central park
Central Park Bistrița is part of a vast restoration program for the central area, addressing a complex urban challenge. The space, an 18th-century Habsburg riding park, overlays medieval vestiges – the Coopers’ Tower and the defensive moat. The concept proposes an architectural “acupuncture”: a minimal, precise intervention designed to intrinsically enhance each historical and natural element. The elimination of vehicular traffic, which bisected the park, was a strategic decision, allowing for a clear systematization of the interior space and a redefinition of the pedestrian experience. Natural, durable materials, integrated into the design, contribute to a romantic atmosphere, subtly evoking the refinement of the 18th century. Vegetation is selectively renewed, consolidating aesthetic and ecological coherence. By rethinking its connections with the urban fabric, the park becomes a central, revitalized hub, organically connected to the life of the city.
