“Casa Bunicilor” Playground

“Grandparents’ House” playground in Cluj-Napoca asserts itself as an architectural intervention that delicately negotiates the topography of a free plot, within a generous rural context. The concept is articulated through adaptation to the slope of the land, generating a sculptural volume that naturally integrates into the landscape. The timber-clad facades, in a varied rhythm, provide a warm texture and natural color scheme, while the ceramic tile roof anchors the project in local tradition, recontextualized in a modern way.  The interior, bright and inviting, benefits from the abundant penetration of natural light through ample openings, which blur the boundary between the built space and the green surroundings. This visual permeability amplifies the feeling of connection with nature. The atmosphere is modern and contemporary, where natural materials contribute to a warm ambiance. The project demonstrates a conscious urban integration, where the built form constantly dialogues with the surrounding environment, creating a distinctive landmark.
