Offices and Art Gallery Z
The project strategically addresses the activation of a street corner, located at the edge of the city’s historic district. The building is organized according to an ‘L’ urban typology, a solution that reinforces the 19th-century urban fabric. The expansion of Zina Gallery in the north of the country materializes as a ground-floor art gallery, with a minimalist, almost museum-like interior, designed for display. The facade, a rigorous composition of exposed concrete and mirror glass, acts as an intelligent filter. It modulates the south-westerly light, essential for visual comfort and the preservation of artworks, generating a subtle play of reflections.
The overall atmosphere supports the urban fabric’s corner, offering a discreet yet firm presence. The intervention proposes an architectural reference to the Telephone Palace and the Academy Library, two representative public buildings, thus integrating the new volume into the collective memory of the city. Functionality intertwines with a refined aesthetic, essential in the dialogue with heritage.
