Decupaj Residence

Decupaj Residence tackles the conversion of an industrial precinct, a major urban challenge within the capital. The obligation to preserve the existing volumetric footprints generated a concept of semi-collective housing, an intricate complex resembling an urban Tetris. The facades, defined by fiber cement cladding, corrugated metal, and glass, evoke a robust industrial past, lending the buildings a contemporary texture. Natural light, filtered through ample glazed surfaces, modulates the perception of space, creating a subtle dynamism between interior and exterior. The interior becomes a creative reflection of the imposed volumetric limitations, with ingeniously articulated spaces that maximize functionality. This approach transforms constraints into design opportunities, generating residences with a distinct identity. Urban integration is achieved through careful recontextualization, the complex dialoguing with the neighborhood’s fabric in a manner paradoxically similar to the former industrial structure. The project thus proposes a harmonious coexistence, a new functional stratification of the site, preserving the memory of the place.
