The Ecological House, located in the rural landscape of Sălicea village, Cluj, addresses the challenge of a home deeply connected with nature. The concept of contemporary sustainability guides every architectural decision. Straw bale walls, complemented by natural plasters, define a high-performance thermal envelope, minimizing the ecological footprint. Wood cladding, meticulously applied, gives the volume a warm texture, subtly anchoring it in the local character, yet with a contemporarily resolved aesthetic. The interior stands out for its enhanced brightness. The double-height living area maximizes the penetration of natural light, generously flooding the space and creating a contemporary, relaxed, and intimate atmosphere. This spatial openness facilitates a fluid interaction between interior and exterior. The project demonstrates a conscious integration, reinterpreting vernacular elements in a contemporary way, contributing to a responsible transformation of the rural fabric.
