Vâlcele Urban Plan

The Vâlcele urban planning project responds to the growing interest in the satellite villages of Cluj-Napoca, proposing a strategic and well-reasoned intervention. The challenge lies in creating a coherent urbanization cluster in Vâlcele village, without fundamentally altering the character of the place.  The central concept aims at urbanizing the southern slope, an approach that allows for a phased, flexible, and sustainable development, anchored in the existing topography. The choice of materials is fundamental: wood, local stone, and fired tile, specific to rural architecture, aesthetically anchor the ensemble. These finishes, under natural light, contribute to a warm and calm interior atmosphere, evoking tradition.  The exterior spaces reflect a rural atmosphere, by respecting the traditional plot occupation. The intervention does not impose, but adapts, creating a harmonious integration into the existing landscape and preparing the ground for a logical future expansion.
